I share the district’s beliefs about diversity as a strength and an asset.  When we allow ourselves to be empathetic and see things through other’s perspectives it makes us better people.-Melissa Ness,

Message from Principal Melissa Ness, Ed.S.

Dear Eisenhower/XinXing/Juntos Families,

I am honored and grateful to be the principal of Eisenhower Elementary, XinXing Academy, and the Juntos Spanish Immersion Program! I come to Eisenhower/XinXing/Juntos with an extensive background in bilingual education, instructional coaching, and elementary school leadership experience.

The Hopkins School District appealed to me because of both its established reputation of high academic success, as well as the importance of welcoming and honoring culture. One of my core beliefs is that school is a place for everyone to feel welcome and successful. Learning happens best when we have a sense of belonging and feel cared for, and I believe that all students deserve to be valued and understood.

I love being a part of the wonderful community that is Eisenhower/XinXing/Juntos. Being bilingual in Spanish and English is a skill I value, and I will model the value of knowing multiple languages for our students. One of the qualities I appreciate most about Eisenhower/XinXing/Juntos is the student diversity. I share the District's beliefs about diversity as a strength and an asset.  When we allow ourselves to be empathetic and see things through other’s perspectives it makes us better people.

One of my first and biggest priorities of every school year is to build relationships with students, staff, and families. I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you in your child’s education. I am available to meet in person, over the phone, or through email. Please don’t hesitate to reach out or visit anytime. You belong at Eisenhower Elementary/XinXing Academy/Juntos Spanish Immersion!

诚挚地 - Sinceramente - Sincerely,

Melissa Ness, Ed. S.
